The Georgia State Railroad Museum is a family-friendly facility featuring historic steam and diesel locomotives, as well as the loco-lab for children. The museum is located in the former Central of Georgia Railway Repair Shops Complex and Terminal Facilities, which is a National Historic Landmark. Visitors can explore historic railcars, experience the handcar, and take guided tours by train. The site also includes a working turntable, a massive roundhouse, and operating turntable, as well as a variety of rail cars, locomotives, and two of the oldest southern-made steam engines.
