What to expect

Ballast Point Park is a scenic park located on the east coast of South Tampa, offering stunning views of the Hillsborough Bay and downtown Tampa. The park features a variety of amenities, including a splash pad, picnic areas, a boat ramp, and a fishing pier. There is also a playground with slides, bridges, and climbing structures, as well as a Tot Lot for younger children. Additionally, the park has a gazebo, shelters, and a restaurant called Leons Lobstah Shack, which serves New England-style seafood and ice cream. The park's history dates back to Tampa's earliest days, and it was originally named Jules Verne Park before being renamed in 1903
