The History of Diving Museum is a museum located in Islamorada, Florida, that showcases the history of underwater diving. The museum was founded by Joe and Sally Bauer in 2000 and opened to the public in 2005. It features a collection of vintage underwater diving equipment, including diving helmets and atmospheric diving suits, as well as exhibits on the history of diving, beginning with a story from the 3-4 thousand year old Epic of Gilgamesh. The museum also hosts presentations and events, such as the 'Immerse Yourself!' series, which features guest speakers covering topics from all aspects of the diving industry and the marine environment
