Eco Pond Trails

Hiking trail Homestead, Florida, United States

What to expect

Eco Pond is a freshwater pond located in the Everglades National Park, near the end of the Main Park Road in Flamingo, Florida. The pond is a popular destination for birding and wildlife sightings, with a variety of wading birds, songbirds, ducks, and other wildlife, including alligators and Florida softshell turtles. The trail around the pond is a 0.5-mile loop that is generally considered easy to navigate, but it is not wheelchair accessible. The area is exposed to the sun, so visitors are recommended to bring sun protection. The pond is most interesting at dusk and dawn for birding, but mosquitoes are also most active during these times. The trail is open year-round and is a great place for hiking and walking
