What to expect
Flamingo Gardens is a 60-acre botanical garden and wildlife sanctuary that offers a peaceful day out for families. The gardens feature over 3,000 species of tropical and subtropical plants, including a mango orchard, pollinator's garden, and a jungle-like arboretum with 16 Champion trees. The wildlife sanctuary is home to a variety of animals, including American flamingos, alligators, bobcats, Florida panthers, and birds of prey. Visitors can take a narrated tram tour, visit the historic Wray Home, and explore the Everglades aviary, which houses one of the largest collections of birds and animals in the United States. The gardens also offer a playground, picnic areas, and a snack bar, making it a great place to visit with family and friends
