The Switzerland of America Lookout Point, also known as the Ouray Overlook, is a stunning viewpoint above the historic mining town of Ouray in southwestern Colorado’s San Juan Mountains. The overlook features sweeping views of the soaring mountains surrounding the town and has plenty of parking space with informative signs about the town's history. Visitors can enjoy views from the lookout facing south, toward the mountains surrounding the Million Dollar Highway, and views facing north of Ouray. The lookout is universally accessible, with a flat and level parking lot made of crushed stone, and a dirt trail that leads downhill to a view overlooking Ouray. Dogs are allowed if leashed and should be cleaned up after. The town of Ouray is a great place to roam around, with brick buildings from the 1890s, restored Victorian houses, restaurants, and shops, and offers various recreational activities such as hiking trails, four-wheel-drive roads, and hot springs
