Golden Gate Canyon State Park is a 12,119-acre park with 42 miles of hiking trails, allowing horse and bicycle travel on 27 miles. The park features a variety of landscapes, including wetland and riparian plant communities, ponderosa pine, Rocky Mountain juniper, Douglas fir, and aspen forests. Visitors can spot wildlife such as mule deer, elk, black bear, mountain lion, Abert's squirrel, and pine squirrel, as well as birds like turkey vulture, Steller's jay, and mountain bluebird. The park offers facilities including a visitor center, over 100 campsites, and 125 picnic sites, making it a great destination for outdoor enthusiasts and families
