The lake is accessible via a 3.6-mile round-trip hike from the Bear Lake Trailhead, which features a steady climb through aspen groves and ponderosa pine. Along the way, hikers will pass by Nymph Lake and Dream Lake, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including Flattop Mountain and Hallett Peak. The trail continues around the north shore of Dream Lake, traversing deeper into Tyndall Gorge, and eventually reaches Emerald Lake, situated at an elevation of 10,111 feet. The lake is a popular spot for hiking, fishing, and snowshoeing, and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and wildflowers during the summer.
