Elk Avenue

Elk Avenue is the heart of downtown Crested Butte, a bustling stretch with dozens of quaint restaurants, bars, and shops, many of which still inhabit buildings that date back to Crested Butte's mining days. The colorful facades match the rich history of Crested Butte, giving visitors a fun and unique avenue to explore. Elk Avenue has something for everyone, including toys at Pooh's Corner for the youngest guests, and a mix of restaurants and funky artwork for adults. The Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum, located in the middle of Elk Avenue, features rotating exhibits on the town's historical past and offers historic walking tours. The avenue also hosts various events throughout the year, such as the weekly Farmer's Market in the summer and the annual Alley Loop cross-country ski race in the winter
