What to expect
North Cheyenne Cañon Park is a 1,600-acre park located on the southwest side of Colorado Springs. The park features a unique landscape with a 1,000-foot deep canyon cut into 1.5 billion-year-old granite rock. Visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, and horseback riding on the park's extensive trail system, which includes 56 miles of trails. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including black bears, mountain lions, and mule deer, as well as birds such as the kingfisher, American dipper, and broad-tailed hummingbird. The park also features several scenic attractions, including Helen Hunt Falls and Silver Cascade Falls. Visitors can access the park's trails and scenic areas via North Cheyenne Canyon Road, which runs along the bottom of the canyon. The park has two visitor centers, the Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center and the Helen Hunt Falls Visitor Center, which offer information and exhibits about the park's natural and cultural history
