What to expect

The Chautauqua Trail is a 1.3-mile out-and-back path that takes you through the meadow just below the famous Flatiron formations. This route can be hiked as a standalone route or used as a jumping-off point to many other popular hikes in the park. The trail is wide, well-traveled, and slightly inclined, with valley vistas, wildflowers, and great views of the jagged Flat Irons. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. The area is also home to other trails, including the First and Second Flatiron Trail, which takes you up close to the two most prominent Flatirons, and the Bluebell Road trail, which leads to a scenic viewpoint and a unique outdoor living room made of rearranged sandstone slabs. The Chautauqua Meadow is a great place to spot wildflowers in the summer and offers breathtaking views of the Flatirons
