Olmsted Point is a famous vista of the northern side of Half Dome, Tenaya Canyon, and Tenaya Lake to the east from Tioga Pass off State Highway 120 in Mariposa County. The point is named after landscape architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr., who were instrumental in the protection of Yosemite in the 1860s. The area features 'erratic' boulders that were left when the last glacier came through, and offers a closeup view of Clouds Rest, with Half Dome beyond, as well as a view of Tenaya Lake and the granite domes that envelop it. The point is wheelchair accessible and has a bronze relief tactile model of the surrounding landscape. It's a great spot for scenic views and photography, with a short and easy hike of 0.25 miles round trip and an elevation gain of 100 feet
