May Lake is a lake in Yosemite National Park, located in California, United States. It is also a High Sierra Camp where backpackers can stay in tent cabins near the lake. The lake offers stunning views of Mount Hoffmann and is a popular destination for hiking and fishing. The camp has eight cabins that can accommodate 36 guests. The lake is situated at a surface elevation of 9,270 ft (2,830 m) and is surrounded by a conifer forest and granite slabs. May Lake is named after Lucy Mayotta ('May') Browne, who became the wife of Charles F. Hoffmann in 1870
