The Venice Canals are a historic district located in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The canals are approximately one and a half miles in length, fifty feet in width, and five feet deep at center, and are laid out in a grid. There are six canals, with four running east to west (Carroll, Linnie, Howland, and Sherman Canals) and two running north to south (Eastern and Grand Canals). The canals are a designated wildlife preserve, with a variety of bird species and fish. The area is also home to a mix of one, two, and three story homes with a variety of architectural styles. The canals have a rich history, dating back to 1905 when they were built as part of Abbot Kinney's 'Venice of America' development. The canals were renovated in the 1990s and have become a desirable and expensive residential area

Activities: We started by visiting the "Venice of America". "We could walk around in kayak!" It was a Sunday morning and "there was a nice peaceful and relaxed atmosphere here, we felt perfectly at home with James who was napping in the stroller"
Highlights: We loved the tranquil atmosphere. The canals are only a few minutes walk from the beach. It was a perfect way to spend the morning with our little one ✨
