The Taylor Creek Visitor Center offers a wide range of maps, brochures, wilderness permits, and interpretive programs. It is the hub for the start of four fascinating self-guided trails, including the Rainbow Trail, Lake of the Sky Trail, Forest Tree Trail, and Smokey's Trail. The trails meander through forest, marsh, streamside, and beach habitats, providing opportunities to observe Lake Tahoe's wildlife and wildflowers, such as the bright red snow plant, monkeyflower, and Tahoe yellow cress. The visitor center is a great place for families to learn about the local flora, fauna, and human and natural history, with programs and events available, including student programming and amphitheater presentations
