Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History

The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History is a natural history museum that reconnects people to nature indoors and outdoors. The museum has ten indoor exhibit halls focusing on regional natural history, including astronomy, birds, insects, geology, mammals, marine life, paleontology, plant life, and the Chumash Indians. It also features a research library, the John & Peggy Maximus Art Gallery, and a full-dome planetarium. The museum sits on 17 acres of oak woodland along Mission Creek and offers a wide range of exhibits, including Mammal Hall, Bird Hall, Chumash Life, Gem & Minerals, and Earth Sciences. The museum also has an immersive and interactive aquarium, the Sea Center, located on Santa Barbara's historic Stearns Wharf, which showcases marine life from the Santa Barbara Channel. The museum offers educational programs for children, including daily or week-long camps and classes, and has a variety of family-friendly activities and exhibits
