What to expect

The San Francisco Wave Organ is a wave-activated acoustic sculpture located on a jetty in the San Francisco Bay. It was constructed in 1986 by artist Peter Richards and stonemason George Gonzalez. The organ is made up of 25 PVC pipes that interact with the waves of the bay, producing a unique auditory experience. The sound is best heard at high tide and varies depending on the level of the tide, including rumbles, gurgles, sloshes, and hisses. The structure incorporates stone platforms and benches where visitors can sit and listen to the sounds. The Wave Organ is a great place to visit with family and friends, offering a unique and interactive experience with the natural sounds of the bay
