What to expect

Hyde Street Pier is a historic pier featuring an outdoor exhibit on maritime history and several historical ships docked in the harbor, including the square-rigger Balclutha, the lumber schooner C.A. Thayer, the Eureka ferryboat, the steam tug Hercules, and the scow schooner Alma. The pier offers a spectacular view of San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. Visitors can walk to the end of the pier, stop by the Small Boat Shop, and pick up a free Junior Ranger Program activity booklet. The pier is wheelchair accessible, and a computer kiosk in the Visitor Center features an interactive tour of the Park and ships. A Guide By Cell audio tour is also available, giving visitors the option to listen to a variety of programs narrated by park rangers at their own pace
