The Golden Gate Overlook is a scenic spot that offers stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, with both towers perfectly lined up between historic cypress trees. It's a popular spot for photos, especially during sunset. The overlook is a curved concrete plaza that hugs the edge of the coastal bluffs, and it's an access point for the California Coastal Trail and Batteries to Bluffs Trail. Visitors can enjoy walking down the hill to see native flora and winding footpaths, as well as historic gun batteries that once defended San Francisco. The area is also a great starting point for hikes, with three major multi-use park trails converging here. The mature Monterey Cypress trees that frame the overlook are part of the historic forest planted throughout the Presidio by the U.S. Army beginning in the 1880s
