Butte Lake

Butte Lake is a lake located in the northeastern section of Lassen Volcanic National Park in California. The lake is popular for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and swimming. The surrounding area features hiking and backpacking trails, including the Cinder Cone Trail, which ascends a nearby volcanic dome. The lake has a unique underwater lava field and is surrounded by Ponderosa pines and several ponds. The area is known for its volcanic history and diversity of plants and animals, with over 700 species of flowering plants and 250 species of vertebrates. Visitors can explore the nearby Subway Cave, an underground lava tube, and enjoy non-motorized boating on the lake
