Fitzgerald Marine Reserve

Fitzgerald Marine Reserve is a 32-acre marine reserve located in Moss Beach, California, featuring a diverse range of marine life, including algae, crabs, sponges, seastars, mollusks, and fish. The reserve has a three-mile stretch of beach, tidepool habitat, marsh, erosive bluffs, clifftop trail, and cypress and eucalyptus forests. It is a popular spot for educational visits, with a variety of flora and fauna, including the endangered San Bruno elfin butterfly and the rare plant Hickman's potentilla. The reserve is also home to a diverse range of intertidal species, including sea urchins, anemone, and hermit crabs.
