Corona del Mar State Beach is a great family beach and a popular place for swimmers. The half-mile long sandy beach is framed by cliffs and a rock jetty that forms the east entrance to Newport Harbor. The beach is also popular with surfers, divers, volleyball players, and sunbathers. It offers beautiful sandy beaches and coves, and its sunsets are incredible. The beach has a rich history, having held the first major surf competition in Mainland America in 1928. Surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku is credited with the first use of a surfboard for rescue purposes at Corona del Mar beach in 1925

Highlights: The kids loved playing in the waves and building sandcastles on the soft sand. We also enjoyed exploring the tide pools and the nearby grassy area for picnics ✨
