What to expect

Sand Dollar Beach is a beautiful destination located in Big Sur, California. The beach can be accessed via the Sand Dollar Beach Trail, a 0.3-mile out-and-back trail that takes about 0.5-1 hour to complete. The trail is considered moderately challenging and features a steep path down to the beach. During high tide, the beach is rocky, but when the tide recedes, there are sandy areas to relax on and explore. The beach is also home to cool caves and offers stunning views of the rugged coastline. Dogs are welcome on the trail, but must be on a leash. The area is part of the Los Padres National Forest and offers a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, walking, and exploring the coastline
