It is nestled at the base of Oak Creek Canyon and offers a cool shade, making it a popular site for picnicking, photography, swimming, fishing, and hiking. The area has three trails of varying intensity, including Allen's Bend, Casner Canyon Trail, and Huckaby Trail, which provide opportunities for sightseeing and exploring the surrounding red rock formations. The area is also suitable for families, with eight picnic tables and grills available, as well as public restrooms. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the natural pool, take in the stunning panorama of the Coconino National Forest, and observe wildlife. However, cliff diving and jumping are discouraged for safety reasons
