What to expect

The South Kaibab Trail is a hiking trail in Grand Canyon National Park, located in Arizona, United States. It is a well-defined, well-maintained dirt trail that offers wonderful expansive views of the Grand Canyon. The trail follows a ridge out to Skeleton Point, allowing for 360-degree views of the canyon. The trail is steep and difficult, with little shade and no water sources along the way. It is a strenuous hike with an elevation change of 4,780 feet. The trailhead is located off of the Yaki Point Road and can be accessed via the Rim Trail or the free Grand Canyon National Park shuttle bus. The trail is open year-round, but hiking during summer months is not recommended due to extreme heat and lack of water sources
