What to expect

Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park is a national historical park that commemorates the Klondike Gold Rush of the late 1890s. The park comprises staging areas for the trek to the gold fields in Yukon and the routes leading in its direction. There are four units, including three in Municipality of Skagway Borough, Alaska, and a fourth in the Pioneer Square National Historic District in Seattle, Washington. The park celebrates the Klondike Gold Rush through 15 restored buildings within the Skagway Historic District and administers the Chilkoot Trail and a small portion of the White Pass Trail. Junior rangers can plan their activities and earn their badges at the Pantheon Saloon. The park also has a visitor center in Skagway, located in the railroad depot building at Second and Broadway, which is a good place to begin tours

This family's experience:

Activities: We visited the visitor center and saw the exhibits about the gold rush and the miners' lives, we also watched a short film about the history of the Klondike Gold Rush

Highlights: The kids were most interested in the recreated scene of a miner with all his supplies, which was very realistic and impressive ✨
