Macaulay Salmon Hatchery

The Macaulay Salmon Hatchery is a popular tourist destination in Juneau, Alaska, where visitors can learn about the life cycle of salmon and their near-shore marine environment. The hatchery features a variety of exhibits, including a 5,000-gallon tank where visitors can see large undersea critters up close. The facility also has a fish ladder where visitors can watch salmon swim upstream, as well as a visitor center with aquariums displaying over 150 species of marine life. The hatchery offers guided commentaries and self-guided tours, and visitors can also interact with local sea critters in the tide pool touch tank area.
