The Macaulay Salmon Hatchery is a popular tourist destination in Juneau, Alaska, where visitors can learn about the life cycle of salmon and their near-shore marine environment. The facility also has a fish ladder where visitors can watch salmon swim upstream, as well as a visitor center with aquariums displaying over 150 species of marine life. The hatchery is also a great spot for photography, with a bronze bear statue at the entrance and glorious views of Gastineau Channel, which is frequented by wild American Bald Eagles
