The Takshanuk Mountain Trail is a scenic trail located in Haines, Alaska. It offers a relaxed 4WD trip up a mountain, with stunning surroundings and opportunities to spot eagles, birds, and bears. The trail starts in a lush forest and winds its way up the mountain through 17 switchbacks, with a stop at the Takshanuk lodge for refreshments. The trail then continues to a scenic alpine lake, where visitors can pick wild Alaskan blueberries and salmonberries when in season. The trail ends at the top of the mountain, 1,500 feet above sea level, with a sweeping vista of Chilkoot Lake and the surrounding mountains. The trail is family-owned and operated, and offers a hearty meal at the Takshanuk lodge
