Sheldon Museum

The Haines Sheldon Museum is a nationally accredited museum located in Haines, Alaska, showcasing the art and culture of the Chilkat Valley region. The museum's mission is to collect, preserve, and interpret the history, art, and unique blending of diverse cultures within the region. It houses over 4,000 artifacts, 12,000 cataloged photographs and slides, and countless documents, including mining company ledgers, journals, and research papers. The museum features permanent, temporary, and traveling exhibits, as well as outreach programs for schools and the public, promoting community pride and informing researchers and historians.
