Haines, also known as Deishú, is a census-designated place located in Haines Borough, Alaska. It is situated in the northern part of the Alaska Panhandle, near Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. The area offers a vast Alaskan wilderness with epic views and a get-away-from-it-all feel, making it an ideal destination for authentic Alaskan adventure. With a rich history, Haines was originally named by the Chilkat group of the Tlingit and was later named after Francina E. Haines, the chairwoman of the committee that raised funds for the construction of the Chilkat Mission. The town has a population of 1,657 and is known as the Adventure Capital of Alaska
