The Battle of Bannockburn is a historic site in Scotland where a decisive battle took place in 1314 between the army of Robert the Bruce, King of Scots, and the army of King Edward II of England. The site features a visitor centre with a digitally re-created version of the battle, as well as a memorial park with a statue of Robert the Bruce. Visitors can follow in the footsteps of Robert the Bruce and see the spot where he raised his royal standard. The site also has a cafe and a shop with gift ideas. Activities: We visited the Battle of Bannockburn Experience, starting with the outside area and then participating in the interactive battle. We saw a 3D animation, viewed weapons and armor, and interacted with historical figures on screens. "The kids had a blast."
Highlights: The kids loved the interactive battle! My 13-year-old son even "won" a battle and was very proud. "My Jungs, 13 and 10, find it cool." Silas especially enjoyed the interactive elements and the "fascinating technology." ✨
