Arthur's Seat is an ancient extinct volcano and the main peak of the group of hills in Edinburgh, Scotland, which form most of Holyrood Park. It is situated just to the east of the city centre and rises above the city to a height of 251m, providing excellent panoramic views of the city and beyond. The hill is relatively easy to climb and is popular for hillwalking. Visitors can also explore the surrounding Holyrood Park, which features dramatic hills and crags, as well as several historical sites such as the remains of an Iron Age fort and a medieval chapel. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife, including geese at Duddingston Loch
