What to expect

Castle Ward is an 18th-century mansion with a unique mixture of architectural styles, featuring a classical Palladian style on one side and a Georgian Gothic style on the other. The estate includes 332 hectares of landscaped gardens, a fortified tower house, Victorian laundry, theatre, restaurant, and shop. Visitors can explore the mansion, gardens, and shoreline of Strangford Lough, and enjoy various activities such as walking, cycling, or horse riding on the 21 miles of trails. The estate also features a working corn mill, a saw mill, and a farmyard. Castle Ward is a great place for families to visit, with a woodland playground, a secret shore nature trail, and a dedicated exercise field for dogs. The estate was also a filming location for the television series Game of Thrones
