What to expect

The York Dungeon is a tourist attraction that depicts the city's dark history using actor-led shows, special effects, and displays of models and objects. Visitors can walk through 10 live actor shows, telling the story of 2000 years of York's dark history, and enjoy specially designed sets, special effects, and gripping storytelling from professional cast. The attraction features famous characters from York's dark past, including Vikings, Isabella Billington, and Guy Fawkes. The York Dungeon also offers an adults-only tour, Dungeon Lates, which is available on Saturdays and features more scares, saucy banter, and cheekier jokes. The attraction is suitable for children aged 5 and over, but it's not recommended for under 8's. The York Dungeon has a gift shop, public toilets, and is wheelchair accessible with disabled toilets and clear signage
