Jorvik DIG is a hands-on archaeology-themed visitor attraction where visitors can become trainee ‘diggers’ and discover artefacts from 2000 years of York’s history. It is suitable for ages 5 to 12, with additional Dig Deeper tours designed for adult visitors. The attraction offers a unique archaeological adventure, allowing visitors to discover techniques used by field archaeologists, investigate scientific techniques, and learn about the history of York. It also features four excavation pits filled with Roman, Viking, medieval, and Victorian finds. The place is family-friendly, with facilities such as wheelchair access, accessible toilets, and sensory bags available. It also offers school visits and a Virtual Outreach programme
