Shakespeare's New Place was the family home of William Shakespeare from 1597 until his death in 1616. The house was demolished in 1759, but the site has been re-imagined to give an impression of the scale of the original house and its relationship to the surrounding buildings. Visitors can walk in Shakespeare's footsteps and enjoy a landscape that reveals the footprint of New Place, one of the largest houses in the borough of Stratford-upon-Avon. The site features specially-commissioned artworks that evoke a sense of family life and hint at Shakespeare's major works written during his 19 years at New Place. The Great Garden, once part of Shakespeare's estate, displays sculptures inspired by his writing and includes a restored Knot Garden based on designs from Shakespeare's time

Highlights: We did not enjoy this site as much as the others. We hope the garden would be more enjoyable in the sunshine ✨
