What to expect

The Royal Observatory is a historic observatory located in Greenwich Park, overlooking the River Thames. It is home to the Prime Meridian, the reference point for Greenwich Mean Time, and has played a significant role in the history of astronomy and navigation. The observatory contains the Astronomy Centre, Flamsteed House, and the Meridian Courtyard, as well as the Peter Harrison Planetarium. Visitors can stand on either side of the Meridian Line and explore the observatory's rich history. The site also features a 28-inch refracting telescope, which is one of the largest in the UK.
