What to expect
Hampstead Heath is a wild park of woodland and meadows, located in north London. It spans 790 acres and boasts spectacular views of the city. The heath has a long history, with archaeological discoveries dating back to the Mesolithic period. It has been a popular escape from the city for over 200 years, with many notable figures such as C.S. Lewis and Constable drawing inspiration from it. The heath features swimming ponds, a lido, playgrounds, and a training track, as well as being home to a variety of wildlife. It is a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation and part of Kenwood is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The heath is managed by the City of London Corporation and is a popular spot for recreation and leisure activities
