It is the second largest conservatory in London, covering 23,000 square feet and housing over 2,000 species of plants and trees, as well as terrapins and koi carp. The conservatory was designed by the Barbican's architects, Chamberlin, Powell and Bon, and surrounds the Barbican Theatre's fly tower.
