Bristol Zoo was a zoo in the city of Bristol in South West England. The zoo maintained a wide variety of floral plantings and exhibited over 900 animals representing about 200 species. Noted especially for its monkey exhibit and aquariums, the collection included a breeding group of black rhinoceroses, okapi, gorillas, Asiatic lions, and red pandas. The zoo had several exhibits such as Seal and Penguin Coasts, Gorilla Island, and The Reptile House. It was home to a family of western lowland gorillas, and visitors could observe animals from across the world, including lemurs, European brown bears, and African penguins
