What to expect

Soho House is a museum that celebrates the life of Matthew Boulton, his partnership with James Watt, and his contribution to the Midlands Enlightenment and the Industrial Revolution. The house, which dates back to 1756, features fine collections of ormolu, silver, furniture, and paintings. It was a regular meeting place for the Lunar Society, a group of great thinkers and inventors that included James Watt, Erasmus Darwin, Josiah Wedgwood, and Joseph Priestley. The house has been restored to its 18th-century appearance and includes a beautifully recreated garden. Visitors can see the Dining Room, where the Lunar Society met, and view displays of silver and ormolu produced in the Soho Manufactory, as well as the stunning ormolu Sidereal clock made by Boulton and Fothergill
