High Force Waterfall

Waterfall Barnard Castle, England, United Kingdom

What to expect

High Force Waterfall is a spectacular 21-metre cascade situated within the beautiful Upper Teesdale countryside in the North Pennines Natural Landscapes. The waterfall is surrounded by a stunning upland landscape, offering wide-open moors, flower-rich hay meadows, intimate woods, and tumbling rivers. Visitors can enjoy a colour palette that changes over all four seasons, from bright blue summer skies to vibrant greens of nature bursting to life in spring. The waterfall is a great place to visit with family and friends, with several walking routes available, including a short walk to the bottom of the falls and a 5-mile circular walk from Bowlees Visitor Centre or High Force car park. The area also offers a picturesque picnic area and exclusive out-of-hours access to the waterfall for guests of The High Force Hotel. The waterfall is suitable for families, with a well-maintained car park and facilities such as a café/restaurant and toilets. Dogs are also accepted on short leads
