Cultural hub Sharjah, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

What to expect

The Heart of Sharjah is a cultural heritage project that aims to preserve and restore the old town of Sharjah to its 1950s state. The 35,000 square metre project is the largest heritage site in the Arabian Gulf Region and is centred around the restoration of the old Sharjah souq district. The project includes the restoration of Al Hisn Fort, Souq Al Arsah, and Souq Shanasiyah, as well as several important merchant's houses. The area is also home to the Sharjah Heritage Museum and the Al Eslah School. Visitors can explore the traditional barjeel buildings, art spaces, and museums, and experience the vibrant heritage and arts district. The district hosts various annual events, including the Sharjah Biennial and Sharjah Heritage Days
