The Liwa Oasis is a large oasis area in the Western Region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is the ancestral home of the revered Bani Yas tribe and features towering sand dunes and forts dating back more than a century. The oasis is centered around 23°08′N 53°46′E and stretches about 100 km east-west, along an arch curved to the north. It consists of some 50 villages and is home to several hotels, including the Liwa Hotel and the Qasr Al Sarab resort. The nearby Moreeb dune, one of the largest dunes in the world, attracts people every year during the Liwa festival, where off-road and camel racing events take place. The oasis is also a great place for families to explore, with its unique landscape and rich cultural heritage
