What to expect

The Liwa Desert, located in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is a vast and beautiful desert landscape. It is home to the Liwa Oasis, a large oasis area with a rich history and culture. The oasis is centered around the village of Muzayri` and stretches about 100 km east-west, along an arch curved to the north. It consists of some 50 villages and is known for its date farming, with a widespread use of drip irrigation and greenhouses. The nearby Moreeb dune, one of the largest dunes in the world, attracts people every year during the Liwa festival, where visitors can enjoy off-road and camel racing events. The Liwa Desert is also a great place for families to experience the traditional culture and hospitality of the United Arab Emirates

Activities: We spent a whole day in Liwa Desert. We started with the Fossil Dunes, then went to the Long Salt Lake, and also visited the Tropic of Cancer. Afterwards, we enjoyed dune-bashing, saw camels and gazelles. We had a lunch break at an oasis and ended the day on the Mureeb Dune where the kids could sandboard

Highlights: Dune-bashing was a mega feeling! The kids loved sandboarding. The view from the Mureeb Dune was wonderful. They saw wild gazelles and camels and had an unforgettable view in the desert ✨
