Al Jahili Fort is a 19th-century fort in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. The fort was built in 1891 by Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan for the protection of date palm farmers. It has been restored and is now a cultural hub, hosting temporary and permanent exhibits, including a homage to Sir Wilfred Thesiger, who conquered the Empty Quarter twice in the 1940s. The fort is surrounded by a lush park and has received the prestigious Terra Award for Internal Design and Layout in 2016. Nearby must-visit attractions include the historical Jahili Mosque, built around the same time as the fort
