What to expect
The Al Wathba Fossil Dunes showcase weather-beaten towers of rock and abstract, naturally formed desert sculptures crafted from wind-swept, calcium-carbonate-infused sand. Visitors can explore the dunes on foot and take photographs of the striking landscape. The area also features a wetland reserve with a diverse range of flora and fauna, including over 250 species of birds, dragonflies, damselflies, and the spiny-tailed lizard. The reserve has a visitor centre, washrooms, and self-guided trails, as well as music and light shows. Families can enjoy walking the well-lit trails, relaxing in the shades, and soaking in the beauty of the site
