Paşabağları Müze ve Örenyeri

Archaeological site Nevsehir, Nevsehir, Turkey

What to expect

Paşabağları Müze ve Örenyeri, also known as the Valley of the Priests, is a unique area with distinctive fairy chimneys. These natural formations were carved by humans to serve as chapels and living spaces. One of the three-headed fairy chimneys has a chapel built in the name of St. Simeon, which also contains a cell. The area is also home to the Zelve Ören Yeri, a valley with three valleys that was an important settlement and religious center for Christians between the 9th and 13th centuries. The valley features several churches, including the Balıklı, Üzümlü, and Geyikli Kiliseler, as well as a mosque, a monastery, and a winery. The area is known for its well-preserved examples of Byzantine architecture and its unique natural beauty
