What to expect

The Temple of Artemis, located in Selçuk, Izmir, Turkey, is a historic site that was once part of the ancient city of Ephesus. Although little remains of the famous Temple of Artemis, one of the 'Seven Wonders of the World', it is known to have drawn pilgrims from all around the Mediterranean. The area is an outstanding example of a Roman port city, with a sea channel and harbour basin. The city of Ephesus has a complex settlement history, with continuous shifting of the shore line from east to west due to sedimentation, leading to several relocations of the city site and its harbours
