The Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum is a museum located in Sultanahmet Square in Fatih district of Istanbul, Turkey. The museum houses over 40,000 works of art that range from carpet art, wooden works, and stone art collections. It has the distinction of being the last museum opened during the Ottoman Empire Period and is one of the largest museums in Turkey. The museum's collection includes notable examples of Islamic calligraphy, tiles, and rugs as well as ethnographic displays on various cultures in Turkey, particularly nomad groups. The museum's carpet collection is the most important in the world, containing 1,700 pieces, and its metal-glass-ceramic works are particularly important from the aspect of Medieval metal arts
